We have now however moved on to Ko Lanta, another Island off the west coast of Thailand and this place is very nice where people are friendly and full of smiles. We caught a lift in a Tuk tuk that had a sound system that would rival top DJs. It has been raining here the past 2 days but we have strung up a hammock and are just chilling out...things could be worse. On friday we are going to try and go to a Thai boxing match which will be one hell of an experience! We'll let you know how that goes!
Moving on from Ko phangnan, we made our way to the west coast of Thailand to Krabi town which is a nice enough town with local markets cheapish accomodation and friendly thai people. We decided to head to one of the Krabi beaches, Hat Rai Leh, for one night. You can only get to this beach by long tail boat which cost around 150 Baht for a 30 min boat ride. When we got there it was full of resorts...not suitable for our backpackers budget but we stayed one night in the cheapest room available. Sadly because of all the resorts the whole place has completely lost its charm...the beaches are beautiful enough but the people seem to just try and score money where they can out of you and they were not helpful or friendly at all. It unfortunately left a bitter taste in our mouths and so we would recommend not bothering with that beach if any of you were ever thinking of going there.
