We have now spent a good couple of days accross on the other side of Thailand - in fact on an island just off the mainland called ko Phangan. It is insanely beautiful, and although we are in the midst of monsoon season the weather has been fantastic.

Unfortunately, because of all the rain before we arrived the water is pretty murky and not great for snorkelling. I (Brad) have however managed to throw a line in the water and catch a fish - nothing amazing, but a fish non the less.

We also hired a scooter (named Tom Yun) and have been adventuring all around the island. This is one of the best and cheapest ways to get around the island. There are so many different beaches and things to see that we have been more than able to fill our days - its a tough life.

We are not sure if it is because the mosoon season is coming or because it is nearing the end of the high season on this side of Thailand, but whatever it is we have not been getting hassled at all by people. Maybe all the tauts are taking an early holiday. Well it works for us as it is so peaceful.

The local food has got to be one of the main attractions. We are absolutely lapping it up and it is soooo cheap. It has taken us a couple of days to get into the swing of things, but have now found all the local spots where the food is fresh, cheap and so so tasty. In one of the markets there are countless stalls with an array of food and drink choices. We just waljk from one stall to the next picking and choosing until before you know it you have eaten enough for about 12 people. The fruit juices are also insane and you literally just pick whichever combo you want and they mix it up -awesome. This evening after another amazing meal as we were about to head back on our scooter, there she was....the desert lady! She was making roti pancakes, i couldn't resist. "I'l have a banana and nutella pancake please". Before I know it she is flipping and spinning some dough (italian chefs would be proud). Next its onto the pan - there's oil, butter and some more oil. Its off, filled with banana and after sghe has put a few dollops of nutella and I am ready to take it she adds more!!! What else could she add you ask? Well it was condensed milk, thats right condensed milk and it looks good! I'm about to pay and leave when all of a sudden it feels like I am on an infomercial "thats not all folks, if you buy now..." and my friend the desert lady doesn't dissapoint as she proceeds to add some more chocolate sauce! This is about where on the add they would quickly add "batterries not included and action figure vehicle sold seperately". That (as sickening as it sounds) has got to be one of the best deserts I have ever eaten - I love Thailand!!!
