Yesterday started as any other tropical island day would...with sunshine, sand and palm trees. Little did I know how this amazing day would get even better.

After a lazy start to the day Becs and I took our rented scooter and went exploring around the island. We had loads of laughs and saw some really cool beaches. Along the way we stopped for lunch at a local little spot, that even the hardiest of backpackers would skip (Becs' choice) and had an awesome noodle meal that cost us next to nothing. We then headed back to our bach for a chilled out afternoon soaking up the sun and swimming. I even managed to cast a line and catch a fish.... turns out it wasn't the only thing I ended up catching that day!!

The afternoon slipped into a beautiful sunset and we stumbled upon our first Thai beach BBQ. Sipping on a few cold beers with the smell of freshly grilled fish in the background is not a half bad way to watch the sun set. During the evening filled with more laughs it struck me that this was the most perfect day and opportunity to ask Rebecca if she would accept my proposal for her hand in marriage. And would you believe it she said YES!!!!!!!!!! I had expected to ask her at some point in our travels, but didn't realise that it would be so soon, and the fact that it was almost as much of a surprise to me makes it even more special.

The day really did turn out to be PERFECT!
