After having been warned that it might be a lot of standing in queues to get our Visas for India sorted, we arrived early at the indian embassy. And thank goodness we did. We stood in a queue for 40 minutes before the doors even opened. Then it was a matter of getting a ticket and waiting your turn...or so we thought. Apparently it is not so different from Africa and somehow certain people who were behind us in the queue all of a sudden were helped before us. Anyway eventually we had all our paper work submitted and just had to wait for it to be processed. It meant a couple of days of some anxious sightseeing.

Tuesday we visited a number of the museums (the free ones of course), amazingly it wasn't raining which was a nice surprise (although frikken cold). We watched the beef eaters do the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. (tourists... what?) Lunch time rolled around and we went in search of some good old fish and chips - british, no? we couldnt find a shop anywhere. London seems to have any other world cuisine you could imagine except fish and chips in the daily paper. Their pints are ok though... we may have sampled a few of them.

Julia (becs sister) came for the day and the girls did a real tourist thing and went to Madame Toussauds (while Brad fetched the visas that had arrived). It was pretty good, but quite expensive for what you get. And we finally found our fish and chips and caught up with some friends over a few more pints!

It was really great of Ross and Stuart to let us crash at their place. We're flying out to India tonight, both giddy and excited.
