Arriving to the familiar sound of KAKAAAAA was totally unexpected, never mind the fact that it was from my (Brad) parents. They sneakily planned a surprise for us, tying in with some overseas work my pazil had in italy and were casually waiting with my aunt at the Mussidan train station for our arrival. Needless to say the past few days have been spent in typical Meiring fashion with overindulgence of food and of course booze.... and we thought we were going to be going on a bit of a detox after leaving the south of France??!!
It has been a fantastic start to our adventure and of course really great to see my folks. We haven't seen them for a while and didn't expect to for another 6 months or so.
It is truly unbelievable what Simon and Anita have done with the Moulin. It is a small (or not so small) piece of paradise and we are grateful for the time we have had here. We are in exquisite surroundings here on the river staying in a beautiful self catering apartment. Fiona you would love it here. Its a short bike ride into town where you can buy fresh local produce and wander around taking in the design of the old but characterful buildings. It has also been great to see some of our old gypsy friends from this area - pregnant when we left and would you believe it "still" pregnant now.... got to love the gypos!
We leave for London tomorrow afternoon to stay with a friend of ours.
So until we meet again, a bientot France!
