After a good night's sleep we got moving and wanted to stay ahead of the heat and humidity.  One of the things we wanted to see was the namesake falls. So we filled up the gas tank, got packed and followed the map to the park in the middle of town. Somehow we got turned around and ended up on the industrial side of town. We ended up passing the John Morel meat packing company. At first you had this wonderful wood grill smell, then a little further downwind you had this wonderfully fragrant/pungent smell of processed/cooked meats. As we made it to the park (just up the street) the wind direction just worked well to send it right by us the whole time.

Enough said.

The park on the other hand is wonderful.  I wish we had had the time to see the light show the night before. As you can see by the variety of pictures the park is a really beautiful place in the city. There are a number of overlooks and the visitor's center has a 5 story tall observation tower to easily see everything.

We spent about an hour there. If we had more time there is a free trolley that runs to many places around town and we could have taken that for a side trip.

The nice thing we have found is that many of the towns and cities are very easy to get to and get around in.  I would highly recommend a visit to Sioux Falls if you get a chance.

Keep you Ear ready for some Corn to come!

Alison's Entry

The waterfalls were very pretty and cool.

Peg's Additions:

This town was the biggest we've seen in several days.  The park is just beautiful and has a wonderful cafe (according to locals).
