What I did
Visited the Deklomp Wooden Shoe and Delft Factory

After Bronners we drove across Michigan to the Eastern shore of Lake Michigan stopping at Holland Michigan. Like its namesake it has a Dutch heritage. The town has one of the only Windmills brought over from the Netherlands and allowed to be place in the U.S.

We had heard about there also being a factory that made authentic Dutch wooden shoes. So of course, always looking for something different we sought it out.

It is called the DeKlomp wooden shoe and Delft factory. Here they use machines to carve out wooden shoes, which you can purchase (I tried a pair on, but felt they just wouldn't work in the office). Also they make delft which is traditionally the blue and white ceramic with paintings on the tiles and such.

Spent a little time and a little money then knew we had to be to Muskegon by 4pm for the ferry ride so off we went.

We then soon traveled to the Wooden Shoe and Delft Factory. I got a pair of little wooden shoes (of course for my American Girl dolls again!) and a little key chain (I am a big collector on those).

Peg's Additions

This reminded me of wooden shoes I have - somewhere!
