With the rain still falling hard, I checked out of Mission Beach and got on the road again listening to reports of great weather down south.

There's not much to report about the drive cos the weather made it difficult to concentrate on anything but the road.  A bit of aquaplaining every so often livened the trip up a bit!

I arrived in Airlie Beach that evening and checked into Magnum's which is a backpacker place with dorms, cabins, camping and caravan sites.  It was busy enough here but while the warm rain was still a bit of a novelty to me and I was kinda enjoying it, everyone else seemed to be walking around with sad faces caused by the cloudy skies.  The pool tables had turned into little swimming pools.

I got out my rain jacket for the first time on the trip and headed out for some grub.  Later I had a few beers in Magnum's before heading for an early(ish) night.
