Karrie's last posting on Holiday of a lifetime

We have had an awesome holiday. Our unit upgrade was a strike of luck. Our first unit was located in Lower East Side which we enjoyed very much. But our upgrade to mid midtown and Soho took us to the part of New York I have always dreamed of. Check out the photos.
It was just amazing.....! I cannot speak highly enough of the area, it was magic. Restaurants, shopping, and such cool places and people.
We saw pretty much all the things you should in New York. We had some amazing food, and views and experiences. If we hadn't been in the two areas we would not have had the contrast
You can be riding the subway and all of a sudden a boom box comes out and you are being entertained by some pole dancing or singing and then being asked for a donation to their case...eating?
Other days you may see people crossing the street and stopping in the middle of Broadway to get their photo taken with the metropolis behind them.
Another day you can turning up to move into your new apartment and then be taken to one further down the street worth $2m dollars and told its yours for no extra cost.!!!
On the off chance you might strike it lucky as you are in the area, you knock on the door of a major organisation called USO to talk to someone about what you are doing in Australia, namely APOD. The door is opened and within minutes you are introduced to the CEO who takes half an hour to hear your story and share some insights. If I had rung to make that appointment, I am sure I would never have got through the door.
We were blessed with amazingly good weather
Both our health has been good, except for an annoying cold I got when we first landed in NY.
Andrew was a superstar with maps and getting around so that we could see all the cool things we wanted to, plus his driving around Montenegro got us to places you could not have got to any other way.
This is the last posting and I am sad to say last day of our holiday.
It has been an amazing trip I will have to read my own blogs to remind myself of all the detail.
Hopefully the photos below end off my last blog appropriately.
We had a blast.
We are home, safe and sound.
Love to all and looking forward to seeing you in the near future
