. we just got back from the free breakfast and ate our fill of cheese, salted meats, bread, and more cheese. i also had some prunes! sadly stephanie has broken out in some sort of rash, so the first thing on out to do list is to try and find a pharmacy and get something to ease her itchies. the pharmacy was right across from the hotel. they really don't have benadryl, but the phamacy person recommended something else. i hope it works.
we hit up the cathedral notre dame, petite fance district, and shopping. stephanie and i got new shoes buy one get one 50% off. score! they are like baby clouds on my feet and super cute. stephanie and i had a wonderful lunch of gnocchi and pizza and a bit of wine. on the walk home from shopping we stopped at a local pub with the most beautiful wood tables. met up with marlin and had a wonderful dinner and we even had room for desert. now we are all super tired and trying to plan out our tomorrow.
we are in strasbourg! we took the train back to mulhouse from paris and then drove about an hour to strasbourg. it was dark but we could see the lights of castels in the mountains and lite up steeples in the small villzges scattering the countyside. from what we've seen from our small walk last night and the hotel windows the city is beautiful. we will do some major exploring today. it was a struggle last night navigating the city. there are a bunch of old narrow roads they in current times have been blocked off for driving and are only used for walking and biking. unfortuneately GPS doesn't recognize that and it tried to take us down a few of these 'roads'. we figured it out with only about a 15 minute delay in our arrival time and made it to the hotel at about midnight. the hotel is pretty amazing! each floor has a beautiful seating area -4th floor is the best with a large red comfy looking couch. we are on floor 6, but i will take our less exciting seating area since we have a room with 2 bedroom areas. there are 3 tiny twin sized beds. poor marlin hangs his feet off the end, but i guess that is europe
