We had a FULL day as we saw collectively 25 patients and afterwards went to Paso Fino for drinks, dinner and dancing!
After a pretty regular morning,we had breakfast and then sat on these rocking chairs in front of the cafeteria. Leah went to go scope out the patients for the day to see if our expected 15 turned into 40. Luckily, it had only increased to 25.
While we were waiting, Father Bill left the bell tower open so we all climbed to the top!
Afterwards, we saw 6 patients, stumbling through our exams in Spanish
After we saw the morning patients, we ate a late lunch of this eggplant mash, and bread with Skippy extra chunky peanut butter and fruit!
We topped our morning census when we saw 19 patients! It was pretty incredible we finished about 6pm.
Then, we got ready for the evening! I wore jeans and a lightweight black and white top from Forever 21 with fun tassels off the shoulders! I was glad to wear my jeans because I only brought my Keens as both shoes and sandals, so I would have looked pretty funny with a dress and Keens. I might still have to wear that combination, but it's ok.
We got to Paso Fino about 8:00 and it is this outdoor restaurant next to the show ring where the horses show off their ability to walk! Their ring had dirt areas as well as a couple of boardwalks so that the horses feet made so their clip clopping is accentuated!
The restaurant had a U of tables set up for our group, a dance floor complete with disco ball and a bar staffed with the nicest bar tenders! The entire restaurant was designed with a boardwalk around so that the horses come into the restaurant on these boardwalks so you can get up close and personal while the horses do their paso fino! It was amazing
I danced like a fiend and my favorite songs were ones where everyone was dancing like crazy on the dance floor including Dr. Gray!
The food was delicious and consisted of lasagna, a beef and vegetable dish, rice and beans, ham wrapped in chicken and this casava toast! Yum! I had lots of water but also tried coke with Dominican Rum and Sangria!
Now. breakfast and off to Batey Libertad and Batey Dos!
