Blue skies, sunny days, cool nights, and beautiful views. After being in cloudy and cold Sydney for two days, Brisbane is extraordinarily refreshing! Being here and loving it so much, I am realizing how much I didn't like Sydney. Brisbane has personality and beauty while Sydney could have been any city in the world with only the Opera House setting it apart. Here I feel like I'm home, while there I felt like a wanderer...which I am I guess, but that's besides the point. Now I am staying with an incredibly nice family in a beautiful house overlooking the city, and having an amazing time. Yesterday AJ drove me around to different restaurants and shops so I could put in my resume. I already have three places who want me to come in during the next week for trials. This is definitely good, but definitely scary. In the States we have interviews and references, here they take a glance at your experience and then say prove it. Before they'll hire me I have to go in for 2-3 hours and work. Haven't they ever heard of training?! Like I said, scary... But besides the ulcer that I'll probably develop in the next week, things are going really well. I'm even learning that when you're tired you say you're weary, and that pickups are F trucks and yutes are weird looking F Trucks. Mosquitos are mozzies, they for some reason have Krispy Kremes here, nothing is low or nonfat but everyone is skinny, and flipflops are thongs. I was very taken aback by a magazine advertising that everyone who buys a copy would get free thongs...but that's the fun of traveling!
