Thanksgiving was very unique. We had an incredible meal, white linen table clothes and red wine included. The cooks, prep cooks and bakers worked for weeks before preparing all the food. It was a really nice treat to break out of the daily routine here, have the big-wigs serve us wine, sit back and enjoy...stuff...and visit. The galley staff ate at 1:30 p.m. then 3 more meals were served for the rest of the station that afternoon/evening. It was the middle of my "night" but I got up to enjoy the festivities with my co-workers...that also allowed me two Thanksgiving feasts. One that afternoon, and one at mid-rats while I was working! There was so much food, I didn't even make it to the hot line the first time, my plate was so heaped with salads, fruits and breads...so I made sure to hit the turkey and stuffing on my next go.round!
