Anyway, so here I am in the South Island. This is where it's at. This is the real New Zealand. I'd be kicking about wi these two crazy English birds in Auckland for the last week and they'd rented a camper down here. So we arranged to join up in Dunedin, they met me with this multi-coloured minivan, "Peace" & "Love" splashed across each side in huge pink letters.
Feckin' beaut! No hassle from nae cunt on the roads, everyone all smiles n letting ye past as we tore by and ripped through the peaceful country-side. Dunedin was a cool place, the name is from an old Celtic word meaning 'Edinburgh'. All the street names and areas were the same Scots names as the Burgh, it even had a wee suburb called Portobello (Portabelly to the locals). Seen loads of Albatross and Hawks, went to a huge deserted beach where we were just about tripping over wild sea lions and a wee penguin.
Then down to the Catlins, the wild and battered South Coast of New Zealand. Great cliff faces and crashing seas, lovely beaches and fortified fossil forests. Rare Hector dolphins performing acrobatics and surfing in the waves just infront of our campsite. Freezing water though, no way was I going in for a swim with them, some mad German bird near froze her tits clean off in there! Heaps of waterfalls and cool campsites in the middle of nowhere.
And here we are in Queenstown. I've only been here 5 minutes and I want to live here already. Criag, my mate from Edinburgh is also here so we should be hooking up for a few beers anytime now...
