Everyone was staying in a holiday house so Bom and I pulled up in the driveway. Turbo and Waggles were happy to be running around freely in a garden for a change and loved all of the attention. We spent the first day catching up with everyone whilst lounging round the pool
The next day was my Dad's birthday so we woke up early to give him his presents then set off to the marina ready for our cruise to the great barrier reef. The boat ride was meant to take an hour and a half but one of the engines stopped working on the way so it took a bit longer to get there. Along the way we saw quite a few islands and it was simular to being in Thailand. When we finally got there the boat stopped at this big pontoon where you can do lots of different activities. We quickly got into our jelly fish suits so we wouldn't be stung, and set off snorkelling. We saw lots of fish but most of the reef was dead as it is so touristy. We also went for a sub marine ride through the reef which was different. After this we made our way back to the boat and luckily they had fixed the motor so the trip back wasn't so long. That night we went out to the poshest resturaunt there called Nautilus, which is apparently Bill Clinton's favourite resturant in Australia. It is a beautiful restraunt in a rain forest setting and you are out in the open. It has a great atmosphere. We started with a few pre dinner cocktails followed by a slightly disappointing meal, but the company made up for that.
The final day Bom, Sophia and the girls woke up bright and early for a horse ride along the beach. Then in the afternoon we drove down to Cairns for some white water rafting which was great fun. Bom was the only one who fell out the boat but he didn't seam to mind. We finished off the night with a meal at a pub. The next day we drove back to Cairns to drop everyone back at the airport. We had a nice lunch at the Cairns marina before saying goodbye to everyone.
