Left the hotel for a tour of Spilberk Castle. Our tour guide Ryderer was excellent, but walking up multiple steep hills to get to the castle almost did in many of us. That along with at least a hundred steps in the castle between the dungeon area up to the tower means no guilt in enjoying the Czech food. The dungeons were used centuries ago to harbor murderers (lowest level), thieves (mid level) and political prisoners (upper) - so you see, not much has changed. The Nazis used the castle during World War II. The views of Brno from the upper levels and the tower were spectacular - if I ever get a strong Internet signal on the tablet I will post photos.

Next stop the Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul which dates back to the 1170s. No photos allowed (so okay, there was an open confessional for that one photo of the altar area and really, I don't use a flash).

Lunch outside at the Oslavany 1623 Zamecky Pivovar. The waiter behaved as if he understood our order - not so much! Coach Ben said his meal was excellent even if he didn't order it.

Back to the hotel and on to the game against the Czech Hippos. Pitching the first two innings our very own Jeff Donovan who will continue with the hippos until early October. The Warhawks easily won and were able to spend some time at the bar attached to the field visiting with Jeff, Tomas, and the team.

Back to the hotel and dinner at the rooftop restaurant of our hotel. Tomorrow on to Prague.
