After the mass we met up with Susana, the Brasilian girl we had seen a day before. I took some shots of the Notre Dame while Hanna and Susana were sitting, then we said goodbye to Dario and us 3 girls went together to the Louvre museum.
At St Michele metro station we were waiting for our train and when it arrived, the door was opened just exactly in front of us there was standing...Timmy. From one hand I couldn`t have been more surprised, from the other hand I swear I knew I`d see him and his mum again. The mum was sitting just a couple of metres further ans she was like "hiiii":)
Our next stop was Louvre Museum. Although I had seen the pyramides 4 years before at my first Youth Meeting organized by brothers from Taize, I had never been inside the museum and neither hadn`t seen the famous Mona Lisa la Gioconda. It was Sunday when entrances to all museums in Paris, Arc de Thriomphe and some other tourism attractions were for free. Additionally, it was my 22nd Birthday, so it couldn`t have been a better chance to do that all sightseeing for free. Because we didn`t have too much of time as we had lots of things to do on that day in our schedule, we went only to see the most famous painting in the world - Mona Lisa. Surprisingly, it was really small (A3 size) and not as exciting as everyone says. There were saparated security guards only to support the Giconda, and you weren`t allowed to take photos in that room. On the opposite wall you could see a large picture, which certainly required more commitment and work that Leonardo Da Vinci`s work of art, but nobody paid attention on it. We also saw the Napoleon`s rooms and I found them much more interesting than the Mona Lisa.
Also, we went in the Louvre for a coffee to Starbucks as we were dead after too little amount of sleep the night before. In Starbucks when you order a drink, you always are supposed to tell them what you`re ordering and also your name so they would call you by it when the drink is ready. Hanna said she always liked to create "her" names, so she had been already Anne, Jamie etc.:o) And then I felt like a bulb turning on in my head and I said to her: "We should have ordered this time as Timmy8-)" It was too late though, as the Jamie o whatever was already written on our cups but Hanna asked the guy working for Starbucks for a marker and told him we had a great idea for a photo
After the Starbucks and Louvre Museum we were heading to Champs de Elysees for a walk, and in the final point we were supposed to meet Arc de Thriomphe. We were wandering for a while and my legs started to be tired when suddenly Hanna said she had Birthday surprise for me and we came in...it was a luxorious confectionery with variety of cakes, cookies etc. to choose. It looked awesome and if I had had more time, I would have stayed there for a few hours just to observe everything there. I couldn`t decide which cake to get (Hanna said I could have any so it was too difficult) but I finally made a good choice. YUMMI. About 15 minutes later we got to the Arc de Thriomphe. Climbing upstairs was exhausting (I think I need to start to run again) but the view from the top well worth that. I took another million of pictures and after it we turned to get to Mueum d`Orsay.
When we came there, we found out it was 17:05 and the museum was just being closed
Me and Hanna went to St Michele station to meet up with Dario - Hanna`s room mate and us 3 went to a place near Notre Dame where are variety of different restaurants. We chose the Greek one and it was a good one. For 10 Euros each of us had a full dinner with an alcoholic drink and desert, yummi!
We had planned to go to a pub after it to celebrate my Birthday but Hanna`s legs were not too well and we both were pretty tired after all the day of wandering and sightseeing so we went home. It was my last proper day in Paris as on the next one I was coming back home. I knew a long journey was awaiting me, but didn`t realize it would be THAT long....
I had a fabolous Birthday though, and it probably was one of the best ones I have ever had:).
