Zanim zaczelismy lapac stopa, zjedlismy melona - chyba najlepszego w moim zyciu. Bylo potwornie goraco. Najpierw zatrzymal sie jakis Hindus, potem dalej, Albanczyk z kilkuletnia coreczka i zabral nas do Epidauros. Juz prawie zrezygnowalismy, gdy zatrzymal sie Grek (pierwszy Grek!) z pickupem pelnym melonow i arbuzow, i zabral nas ostatnie 30km do Nafplio.
Potem podeszlismy z plecakami blizej wzgorza i Marcin zostal z naszymi rzeczami, a poszlam sie wspinac. Pokonalam...999 schodow, o czym dowiedzialam sie, bedac juz na gorze!
From Poros we took a boat to the other side, which took about 5 min and... we already were in Peloponnese, in Galatas. We bought a melon and asked an old man about the road to Nafplio. He answered his beautiful clear English that he could take us a few km out of the town. We found out he was an English man from Norfolk that had been living in Greece for 6 years. Before we started stopping cars, we ate a melon - it was probably the best melon I have ever eaten. It was freaking hot out there. Firstly there stopped an Indian man for us, then an Albanian guy with a few-year-old daughter and he took us to Epidauros. In Epidauros we went to a beach there and spent a couple of hours on swimming in the sea and sleeping in the shade. We really couldn`t stand that heat. In the late afternoon we headed up the mountain, in order to walk towards the main road. This time ate a watermelon before we started walking. We had about 2-3km to climb, still in a horrible sun. I really thought I would pass out by the end of it. We didn`t even have an energy to see the ancient theatre of Epidauros, that it located several km from the town. We were taken by two Dutch men instead and they drove us to the local road going towards Nafplio. We were about to give it up, when a Grek man (the very first Greek!) would stop with a pick-up full of melons and watermelons, and we travelled with him the last 30km to Nafplio. He even gave us a melon when saying goodbyeJ . We left our backpacks at a fast food where we ate our dinner and we were wandering around the town, trying to find a place where we could stay overnight.
Later on we walked with our backpacks closer to the hill and while Marcin was staying with our luggage, I went to climb up. I made it through... 999 stairs, which I was told when already at the top!
