Where I stayed
Barataria Preserve Trails/Jean Lafitte National Park
We reached the Preserve around 1:00 and had a private tour along a 5-mile boardwalk into the Bayou and back. We met Larry Tuohy at the National Park Visitors Center and spent about two hours with him as he talked about every aspect of the Preserve, swamp, marsh, bayou, alligators, spiders, lizards, skanks, Cyprus Forest & knees. What an education we received from Larry. It was so hot and humid, both Jim and I were drenched and exhausted after the tour. We asked for a recommendation for a restaurant and went to Restaurante des Famillies, for another wonderful Louisiana seafood dinner. Pictures to follow. After dinner we decided to find a place to stay but after driving past the RV park, we realized we were on the way to Grand Isle so we ended up driving all the way.
