RV Park in the French Quarter

We arrived in New Orleans around 2:00 and parked close to St Charles Street, walked into the French Quarter for dinner - Acme Oyster House.  We then found an RV Park right in the area so instead of driving out of town we are right in the center of everything.  After getting settled we headed back to the French Quarter and straight down Bourbon Street to Preservation Hall.  We waited in line about a half hour and we were the last people to be let into the Hall.  It is a very tiny room with only a few chairs so most of the people are standing to listen to the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.  I opted to sit in the pew-like chairs outside the hall with a huge fan blowing on me.  I could hear the band and enjoy the jazz music in comfort.  The we walked back to the Mothership through all the revelry of a Saturday night in New Orleans.

Sunday morning we walked to Jackson Square to find the cafe Jim remembered from 1965, Cafe Du Monde.  We reached it just as the rains came and made a mad dash across the street to the covered outdoor cafe.  After enjoying our breakfast, Jim found the apartment that he and Tim Carpenter shared, see the picture below, but it looks much nicer now than it did in '65.  We then did a little shopping as we continued back to the Mothership, again very tired and hot, so before we took off we enjoyed the pool and hot tub.  That was very refreshing before we set out for the bayou and more heat and humidity.
