7:30 pm in Little America.  It is on the map, is not a town, it is a travel center/truck stop and we can park free in the parking lot.  So much for a State or National Park tonight. We are tired, we stopped driving about 6:00 and decided this was our destination.  Don't think I'll load any pictures tonight - too tired. I also don't expect any fireworks going off at the gas station so this will be a low key 4th of July. I hope you all had a safe 4th.

July 5th, 8:30 am at a rest stop along the highway.  We left Little America at 6:40 and I slept so I'm not really sure where we are.  Hi to all of my followers. I will look for the park as we travel today.  I think I've found a park at Lake Ogallala for tonight but there were flash flood warnings in that area yesterday.  The skies are clear here, so maybe that storm has come and gone.

Tim arrived home yesterday, after three weeks in St. Lucia, we haven't talked to him yet but I'm anxious to hear all about his stay with Debra and her family.

This road trip brings back memories of my other road trips to Indiana, the last road trip there was in 1979, so I'm really struggling. I miss the Burma Shave signs.....anyone remember those?

I'll post more later.  Love to all.  Karen

Sleep well! We stayed home where it is quiet. Driving all day can really drain you. Happy Independence Day.

Karen and Jim...blessings and safe travels in the mothership! I have driven by "Little America" many times, but it has always been in the middle of the day so I've never stopped. If you get the chance to stop at Vedeuvoo (sp?) about 30-40 miles west of Laramie WY (I think) is a tiny state park and is really pretty cool with interesting rocks. It is right off 80 and makes for a nice breather. (there is a little campground there too).
Have fun! Jim

We had the family all here plus a high school friend and her husband - had a great time visiting. Glad you are continuing with safe journeys and experiencing all of our beatiful country - even the parking lots of America!
Happy Fourth of July!!

Ahh, those Burma Shave signs! Sure made the time go faster traveling through Montana when I was a kid. We love road trips, and are leaving next week for a trip to Glacier. I lived in Montana and the Northwest my whole life, and I've never been to Glacier! Safe travels, and keep posting, fellow adventurers!

Here is a web site to help you recall the jingles. You can read one to Jim occasionally::

I loved those signs too - here's a Burma Shave fix for you:
My job is
Keeping faces clean
And nobody knows
De stubble
I've seen
Burma Shave
