I pulled out of New York through the Lincoln Tunnel, instead of what I should have taken, the GWB.  But it was appropriate - caught in an exhaust-clogged traffic jam in the tunnel and in NJ, as though New York wanted to extract its own personal toll on my leaving.

The trip was uneventful, which is in iteslf a major accomplishment.  I've overcome one of my major fears, which was breaking down 20 minutes outside of NY and getting towed back.  No turning back now.  Camping on the 1st night was fine.  The guy at the desk told me the weather forecast was good - no rain.  So I didn't put up the waterproof fly on my tent (it's mostly mesh).  So around 3AM it starts to rain into the tent and I scramble to put on the fly, which I've never done on this tent.  D'oh!  But I got it on in about 3 minutes and all was well.
