12 cans for 6 bucks and its 6% or so. It seems like a good idea until you wake up the next day and your head feels like someone snuck into the room while you slept and squeezed a brreze block into your head through your ear.
Its not a headache - which pain killers would deal with...it just makes you feel so heavy. Nasty.
Anyway, in contrast, the town we're working in is a dry town. No $h!t there's no bar here...there's an offy (I was suggesting we get a 6 pack and just drink it in the car, but that may be illegal) but the only other way to get drink at lunch is to go into a proper restaurant so we have to drive a few miles to a bar/grill place.
I suppose we should have guessed that the town was dry - its called New Providence (Very Christian) and has lots of Presby churches about.
Morristown, where we live seems to have more churches though...and a Rabbinical college but at least they have the sense to have lots of bars. So not all yanquis are wrong...not all the time anyway.
But the other day when we went to that bar for lunch - its called Winberries - we only tipped the waitress $4, which was about 5%. I mean, she didn't do anything special to deserve a tip at all...we waited a long time for food, she left us with empty glasses for a while so I thought 5% was OK. She took the cash away and we told her not to bring any change (we left $80 to pay for a $76 lunch) she very nicely said "Well, thank you!!" and walked away. Then she was heard to scream "Oh my Gaaawd!!", whereupon she stormed back to us and left the money on the table. Apparently that's what they do when they don't like the tip....so we took it back and left.
This whole tip everyone for everything is really a bad idea, you know....we're gonna get blacklisted in a lot of places I'd say...
