We're closing our bags now before driving down to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon via the raisin capital of the world, Fresno.
Not in such a rush this morning so indulged in the hot tub and the unheated swimming pool this morning. I say unheated meaning that it was indeed cold. Other guests thought us completely mad getting into a cold swimming pool, and the fact we did it after having been in the hot tub clearly labelled us as 'English' I'm sure that some parents might be thinking of calling 911 in the belief I had forced Samson to do it. Actually, it was Samson's idea when we woke at 6.30am. At breakfast we shared a table with an elderly lady. Turns out she lived locally and had taken up residence in the hotel for a couple of days while her kitchen was being repaired after a water pipe had burst. Born here in the US of Japanese parents we discussed at great length the mass Japanese immigration during the 1900s, Why homeless people like California, Californian tax laws and the economy of Main Street, USA. Heavy stuff before 9am but a real treasure.
