This week all of the newbies are at Early Service Conference. So that leaves me, Jess, and Nathan all alone in the big city. I really feel like we're rattling around in MoBay... its just bizzar to go from 12 people to only three (but it really is the coolest three that are left, of course).
Had a slight trauma with electricity the other day... The Jamaican Power Service came around my neighborhood and shut off the power of anyone that was past due. Well, since my Landlady always gives me the bill a month late, guess who got their power 'locked off'? Thats right, me... One thing that has the power to instantly depress me is being without current (electricity) when I should have it. I think it's some kind of post traumatic stress from those few months in Chicago when I also had my power locked off. Fortunately I was able to remedy the problem the next morning (after staying the night with Jess in her electric-rich apartment), and had current again by the time I got home from work. Thank God...
Also, I want to give a 'big up' to my mom (and dad) who sent me a package. Its so nice to get new things from home... Thanks for all of the great stuff!
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, as we're having a peace corps sector overnight meeting. (I'm in the Youth-At-Risk sector. Other sectors in Jamaica: Water-Sanitation and Environment.) It'll be good to see Julie and Joe (both in Youth, as well) and spend the night in a hotel.
