I had been using the laptop and memory stick to type and save messages but the vista 2007 is not compatible with many of the machines to which it has been sent hence the strange script you have been receiving. so much for planning.
We are in the office on a damp Saturday morning having arrived in Madang Town yesterday. We are staying at a guesthouse run by the Country Womens Association. They organise coffee mornings and sales of work to support 13 kindergartens for mum's and children in remote villages in the province.
Our room has a shower and toilet and we are self catering which allows us to come and go as we please. It has an interesting view of the harbour from the gardens which are well maintained and cater for families and bubuman and bubumeris like us
Schools here are very poorly resourced. the new curriculum is not being implemented and resources is one of the reasons given by the schools. The buildings are in an appalling state, again lack money or mis-management..who knows.

Leaving Bogia for Madang.
. There is a library which we can use and reading is a treat as books are very rare here. The International rotary club sends box loads of books but the person responsible for distributing them seems reluctant to make them readily available. The distribution appears to be in the hands of 'trustworthy expats', no doubt they have reasons for the way they operate and time might reveal all but at the moment we just wonder! No doubt we will learn why in time.Schools here are very poorly resourced. the new curriculum is not being implemented and resources is one of the reasons given by the schools.
