This is going to be fun.
I always wondered what it would be like to go on a road trip with Bob and Connie. Now I'm going to find out without having to sit in the car for 11 hours and 22 mintutes. In a DAY.
I will look forward to your next entry....
question about bird houses?
I also wonder why there are so many bird houses attached to fenses in the middle of no where. Can you investigte this for me Bob?
Sounds like you are having fun so far. Can't wait to read your next entry.
diverse road kill....hmmmm
Day one sounds pretty interesting....road kill, birdhouses, Indian battle fields and drive through liquor stores. I can't wait to hear about day two!!!! I agree that traveling with you this way, is pretty nice. Dave says he is glad you could tell the difference between the fried pickels and road kill. Travel safe!!
11 hrs - whewwwwww
Hey guys, you have 5 weeks, slow down - you'll get there.
I agree that I too like traveling with you this way (without having to drive 11 hrs).
Fried pickles sounds very good to me (I'm the girl that eats pickles with popcorn, peanut butter sandwiches, ice cream...just kidding on the ice cream.....isn't that the preference of pregnant women?)
They have those drive thru liquor stores in Texas too.
I wore my mod dress and Beatle boots yesterday and listened to Beatles music in honor of Tom.
Take care :)
Ranchester, WY
Part of my job on this blog is to hurry you along so you'll have more time to spend in Oklahoma visiting us, and also to tell you what you missed when you were hurring along.
Ranchester, WY was a little town you passed just south of the Montana-Wyoming state line, not far from Crow Agency and the Little Big Horn Battlefield (did you get to tour the battlefield? It's neat.) Ranchester has a park on a big bend of the Tongue River where General Patrick Conner attacked a band of Arapahoe in (I think) 1865 (so 11 years before Custer swooped down on the big Indian encampment on Little Big Horn). It's a beautiful little park, in a very, very small town, with lots of history. Conner claimed a victory, but actually it was a draw and the Arapahoe were able to depart without too much damage, and Conner and troops had to lick their wounds. I've camped in the park (they have pull throughs and regular campsights) two or three times, once when they had some live music and most of the town turned out to enjoy it.
Keep traveling and having fun. We love following your path.

drive thru liquer store?
we know what your doing..if you drive at 63 miles per hour you can see more and be more relaxed as all the trafic goes by you and you won't get drowsy as you drive. Much more injoyable and only gets you there a few minutes later. And there is abig milage savings. Joe
