Hey! I will soon be leaving for the Bahamas so I don't have that much time to upload pics and what not! But before we go straight to the Bahamas we will be taking a long 20 hour road trip to Miami, Florida before taking the cruise on Friday to celebrate my cousin wedding at the Bahamas. Here is what happened in past few days.
August 17 - Woke up late but didn't have that much sleep! it was hard to sleep in an air mattress when many people step on it because there is no room to step to! We were sleeping in the middle of the hallway! After waking up and getting ready, we went to church at Roselle! And then broad street shopping at Elizabeth NJ! lots of really cheap deals and cheap places to shop over there! I bought a couple of sandals for only $4.99! If these sandals were in L.A. they would have been much MORE expensive + tax! In New Jersey there is no tax (except for some places)! YAY! Pictures of Broad St. were uploaded already in this blog. After that we had a BBQ back home with Filipino food and Indian food AND Italian Ice! Went swimming at the pool! Then we went to the movies and watched "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" and then went home. Didn't sleep that much again because it was hard to be in a house filled with 20 or more people! Just think about how insane that could be!
August 18 - woke up super early to go to the beach at point pleasant! took an hour to get there but all good! it was partly cloudy but hot that day! waves were super strong and mean haha! There was a high tide throughout the entire day! ate sicilian pizza and couple of bucket of fries for lunch! i should have tried the butterfly fries but had no more money to spend! chilled in the beach after that with cousins and got darker! haha! We then went to the mall in NJ and got my eyebrows done there! i finally got it threaded! I used to have them waxed but the threading part isn't that painful! at least it is less painful than waxing! checked out other things in the mall! found out that people say "singles" a lot in the area! "singles" represent one dollar bills! =] After the mall we went home just to eat dinner and then headed for Holly's apartment! Her apartment is huge! it was on a hill filled with bees and green trees! btw NJ is known for being the GARDEN STATE for a reason! the entire place is filled with green! Anyway we played Mario Kart on the Wii and Guitar Hero III! We watched "13 ghosts" which was MORE gory than scary! we then played twister for fun! haha
August 19 - woke up late and we drove to the train station to get to NYC! it was my first time taking a real train ever! I'm not counting the train rides in the amusement parks like Knotts and Disneyland! So this one really counts as my first! It took twenty minutes to get there! NYC is awesome once we came from Penn Station! It was next to Madison Square Garden! We went shopping everywhere from H&M (they have two on the same street) and Victoria Secret and Forever 21 (which was super messy btw and very long lines to get fitted)! We even bought their famous nuts on the street and I had a shish kebob (sp?) on the go! =] bought lots of NY souvenirs too! Ate at a great NYC place called Mars 2112! Yummy food! Crazy martian characters! Awesome place overall! check it out to their website if you happen to go to NY one day! After that we walked everywhere! imagine having to walk more than 10 blocks from the beginning to the end! The atmosphere was so different! There were naked cowboys and tons of yellow taxis at Time Square honking like crazy! People already started walking even if the pedestrian sign said stop! After that we headed for home via train again at the NJ Transit! Then cousins drove us home! Packed up stuff for the Bahamas! Now time to go!
Peace out!
