/30/08 to 3/31/08: Took off from San Francisco at 1:23am on the 30th.  I was able to move my sit.  They had me switched to the back of the plane but then I was able to move to the emergency aisle.  That was great, lots of legroom.  Was able to get a little sleep.  Arrived in Hong Kong at 6:20am.  I talked to one of the cabin assistants and she told me about getting free Internet access and a place to lie down at the airport.  Found the Internet but not until I was almost ready to get my flight to Guilin did I find the place to lay down 12 hours to late.  Oh well I wanted to get onto China time anyway.  I got the flight to Guilin at 6:40pm.  Only an hour flight.  My friend Dawn was waiting with my driver.  Off we went to Yangshuo.  Car and driver cost only 180 Yuan ($25).  It takes just over 2 hours to get to Yangshuo.  The driver did it in less than 1-˝ hours.  Got check into the Lisa Hotel. When Lisa and Julia got off they came over to greet and talk. It was like I was only gone for a weekend.   The hotel was ok but I found it a little to far from the river and a little noisy in the morning.  Great for the price of  $14 a night.  Free Internet, TV, private balcony, and fair size room.  But on the third floor, walk up.  Lets see what tomorrow brings.
4/1/08:  Dawn came over to go to breakfast.  I told her the place was nice but lets look around.  We went up the street to the Flying Dutchman Café.  Had a nice American still breakfast of eggs, toast, bacon, fruit, orange juice and tea for $2.50.  Then we went out to check on some other hotels.  We hit all the ones on the river but all had the same problem I could get the room I liked but only for 3 nights then it was booked for the weekend.  We finally found one that if I paid for the week in advance I could have the room for $18 a night.  I took it.  Nice room about one block north of where I usually stay.  It was lunchtime.  We headed over to Kelly´s café for lunch.  Dawn wanted me to meet an American who wanted to open a school in Yangshuo.  He was from the Bay area.  Kelly´s Café is a great place for all your meals.   She offers a little bit of everything from every place you can think of and if she doesn´t she will try to make it anyway.  Meet with Mr. Hein. Had a great lunch.  A little of everything: pot sticker, chow mien, chicken burger, fries, salad, and spaghetti.  Lunch for 3 came to $5 including drinks.  Kelly´s has now expanded they have an upstairs.  That is the place to eat.  Kelly is always happy to see you. It began to rain so I decided to call it a day.
