I'm still here, (now in Ethiopia - Addis Ababa - Capital) but internet expensive and slow and not had much opportunity to write the blog, even less to update photos. Did hope here would be better for internet, but holding out for Kenya now (where we set off for tom) but looking at the map out destination of Uganda / Rwanda its a very long way and have the feeling we will be having long drive days (which I enjoy) and bush camping. Did all my washing this morning, just hope its there when I get back. Been to the market today - Biggest in East Africa (pos Africa)- Not been able to bush camp in Ethiopia as they like to throw stones - few people already had stones thrown at them and some hit. No matter where we stop, however remote, people just appear...!
Ethiopians are very friendly - too friendly, and there is normally a sell at the end, but they play the long game. People do come up to you and just demand money. Highlight has definitely been Lalibella (churches carved out of rock) - took 9 hours to get there and another 8 to get back on a bumpy road, but worth it. Took a mini coach as George has had to repair the breaks on the truck already due to what the road did to them on the way and he didn't want to risk the chance of more problems and missing the deadline for the Gorilla treck.
Losing our first passenger tomorrow, Gunter is off on his own for a couple of weeks, three more leave boxing day.
Some people starting to get tetchy with others, all interesting....
Experienced the Ethiopian nightlife last night by going to a nightclub... and it was an experience, but I will write more about that when I update the blog properly. This is just to touch base quickly.
Thats it for now!
