Well, we had GOOD TIMES in Hollywood. Obviously the A-list stars didn't know the Levinson 5 were in town, because we weren't invited to any big ragers. Of course, Maren's Passover Seder was quite the party, but it lacked that...Leo Dicaprio feel that comes with the post-Oscar party. When we arrived Chez Maren, we met Gretel, Maren's new puppy who we think is part lab, part pit, and part something else. And of course 100% cute and 100% crazy, but overall, great dog. Mom was giving Maren the alpha dog information. Anyway, that night we went to dinner with Maren, as well as Grandma Kathy and Grada. It was great to see them again, which is funny because at home, 3 months in between seeing them would NOT be crazy, but that was the last time we saw them.

The next day Kelly and Emily arrived in the fair city of Los Angeles and we picked them up at the airport. We hadn't seen them literally since we left Baltimore and we didn't communicate much, so there was a lot to catch up on. From the airport we went directly to lunch with Grandma Kathy, Grada, Maren, and Nana and Pa, who had also just gotten in from the airport. The looks on the waitstaffs faces were pretty awesome as they delivered food to our party of 12. That same day Emily, Kelly, Mom, Lucy, and Sam went shopping, while I went Maren's house with Kathy, Nana, Pa, Dad, and Maren, where we made the best lemonade I've ever tasted from fresh lemons off Marens lemon tree. It was ridiculously easy and delicious.

The rest of the week was really great, but a bit of a blur. That blur consisting mostly of shopping, crazy schedule configurations, and moving around a bunch. One day we hiked - read:walked - to the top of a peak in Griffith Park where we had a great view of the Hollywood sign. We also checked out the observatory. Another day we went to the Santa Monica pier with Kelly and Emily, which was very fun. No one threw up - a plus - and we got there pretty early, so small lines - another plus. After the pier we went to a shopping center and got lunch before a shopping round.

Another thing that happened was aforementioned Passover Seder. Maren rocked the house. We got to meet all of her friends, Emily had her first Seder ever, and we all had a lot of fun. Her friends were all great. One friend, Amy F., who came over 2 hours early, was hilarious. When the table was asked why do we lean to the left when we drink, no one really knew, including us and all the other Jews at the table, including Amy. So Amy said, " Maybe because most Jews are Democrats? ". Hilarious. Everyone ate so much, had so much fun, talked so much. I really got to know Moms college roomie, Liz.

Now we're driving to Big Sur, where we'll spend a night camping before continuing on to San Fran.
