Arrived into Paris Nord train station. The walk from the station to the centre of the city was an interesting one!! Finally made it to our hotel and after asking a few people we realised we actually had to go into the hospital to get to it .. we had a nurse with an ultrasound machine in the lift with us!!

We were in Paris for three nights which meant we had two full days to explore.

The city is just so beautiful!! Anyone that visits couldnt help but love it. We did so much walking (there's a theme emerging here i think!!) and covered a lot of ground - but tzo days isn't a lot of time when there is so much to see!

Celebrated Armistice day at the Arc de Triumphe with the President of France and lots of fancy looking men on horses with swords. Brass bands playing music and the laying of wreaths. Was strange the next day seeing the road up to the arch so busy with cars as it was all blocked off when we saw it for the first time.

We visited the Lourve museum which was pretty overwhelming. So many amazing pieces of art. Strange to see some of the more famous pieces in the flesh!

We also voted while we were in Paris. The Australian Embassy was very conveniently located right next to the Eiffel Tower so after voting we climbed it! And yes Louie, we actually did the 700 stairs .. caught the lift up the last section but only because there are no stairs to climb up that bit .. if it was available though and could save us €1 we probably would have climbed the whole thing!!

We both really loved Paris!!!

Sounds like Paris has been the hit so far! Shame you couldn't have spent more time there. Good excuse to go back!!! Those little legs of yours are going to be very fit by the time you get home. After talking to you last night you are enjoying your break in Le Rachelle (hope thats how its spelt). Very fitting Chelle. Good to have a break and feel refreshed to continue the next leg. Talking of legs. I have been Christmas shopping this morning. Not going again! My knee does not like shopping. Poor dad is going to be leaving every week with a list of things to get. I don't know what I would do without him. Keep the updates coming. Luv to hear what you have been up to. Love and kisses
