Celebrating New Year's Eve is different for me this year. The Frontline group hired the Tamarama Surf Club so we had beach bbq, volleyball, djs and a dance party. I was part of the setup team and we had fun preparing the food and decorating the place. Hawaiian is the theme so it's fun to see most people dressed up. Oh, did I brought my lei?
Yep, there it is...see those colourful flower necklaces on the photos

Everyone's so busy...setting up technical equipments, cutting decos, posting items on the wall, preparing the food....I even climbed up a ladder to hang all these flowers on the ceiling plus helped put some wiring in place for the path lights. It's good to see our creative juices flowing as the surf club was transformed to a very colourful and hip place. As we open it up, I joined the girls welcoming guests with these lei on our arms. Then I also helped out serving the drinks. Everyone's having fun...dancing, chatting, playing beach volleyball...it was a fun night! Then the big count down...five...four...three....two...one! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

It's indeed a different celebration this time. Though I missed the big Sydney fireworks this year, I had a great time celebrating it with those people I became friends with since I moved to Australia. It's also a year of celebrating the good times for me as I keep falling in love with this place. This is a good sign that I'll still be staying and who knows until when :)
