When you come to Thailand you just can't escape someone telling you a bond movie was made in Thailand. Not last week, not last year but try 30 years ago, how much the Thai economy has made from this is anyones guess. The movie of course is "The Man With The Golden Gun", they still do tours to James Bond island and it's still very popular with the tourists. I took the afternoon tour minus the shopping part and was a nice break from Patong beach.
First stop was at Monkey Cave, on the way there the guide does the usual brief on the activities for the afternoon, when I walked off the bus at Monkey Cave I was in fear of my life thinking I was going to mugged of my camera and wallet by these wild monkeys
After a short drive to our next stop we finally board the long tail boat which takes the island itself. Got to admits it was smaller than I'd expected but still nice view.
Finally, on the way back to shore we stop off at Koh Panyee Village, where the population as Muslim and therefore no booze for sale. Having seen the village now it's probably a good idea not to sell the stuff as the houses are all built on wooden stilts and the only way to get from one end of the village is to navigate the narrow paths which don't have any fence to stop you from falling into the water.
A good tour and probably my last one now as I prepare to head back home on Friday.
