We drove south today, from Newtonmore down to Laggan, Kinlochlaggan, and Loch Laggan.  We drove on a small road into the interior of the Mondaleith Mountains where Shawn and Allene traveled on their first night.  For those who know the story, we are actually doing their route in reverse, so we are now almost to the beginning.  I got out and walked for ten minutes over moorland and Andrew drove down the road and picked me up.  The heather has not yet bloomed, so I have not seen the purple heather-covered hills for which Scotland is known, only the brown heather-covered hills.  It's not all that pretty.
