Linda arrived before Dad. That's unusual! The older kids had already left for school, so we had 'only' five to kiss and hug good-bye-- Michael, Matthew, Connor, Liam, and John Paul.
Airports have changed quite a bit since I was last in one. My last flight was 13 years ago, and my last international flight 19 years ago. It's the first time I've seen a self-check-in kiosk. And the first time I've had to take off my shoes. We got stopped by the x-ray machines, and our carry-on thoroughly searched. I couldn't guess what had set it off, as I thought I'd set aside all liquids. It turns out toothpaste is 'liquid' and I had more than the 3 ounce limit, so, all I can say is, thank goodness I only paid 88 cents at Wal-Mart, because it didn't come with us. A tube a third of the size at the airport costs almost 2.50. Maybe it'll be cheaper in Scotland. Wi-Fi does not work here, though it says there's free public wi-fi and tells me I'm connected.
