the lovely old Montgomery Hello from a beautiful part of the world, yes for the last two days we have been along, a (not very long )but a beautiful stretch of canal the Montgomery canal from the llangollen we turned left at Frankton locks a two chamber lock and then through three more well kept locks only a couple of hours we made the Queens arms we could of gone a little feather but decided to stay at the pub and have dinner.
Ellesmere After leaving Grindley Brook we made steady progress through Whitchurch and up towards Ellesmere still some twenty odd miles from llangollen. In to the arm at Ellesmere, and talk of been lucky only two mooring spaces left and we got them!!Ellesmere is I suppose a typical Shropshire town red brick and red tiled roofs and a warm and friendly welcome, we decided to stay for the rest of the day and over night.Looking round the town we found a wealth of small shops and businesses that in my opinion will soon die,at the far end of the arm witch would of been the basin at one time they are building a Tessco another brick in the wall so to speak.
Friday 8th May 07:45 and another nice morning today we will leave the tranquil Montgomery back in to the main line of the Llangollen, and the mayhem of holiday boaters, no that's not fair but some do leave a lot to be desired. We will move along to Chirk to day to meet up with Judy's sister who is joining us for a week, its over the Chirk aqueduct that's when the fun starts next is the pontcysyllte really looking forward to that my self, hoping to be in to Llangollen on Saturday
