As always, getting ready for an extended journey is an exercise in stress management.  Not only do scheduled projects need to get done, everybody else in the world always seems to be having a crisis that needs straightening out.
Packing is not much of an issue at this point for me, as i have a tried and true mental list of what to bring due to the experience of the past few years.  It's the extracting of one's self from a world that depends on you to be there for it that is the hard part.
Somehow all of these factors tend to work themselves out though, one way or another, and worrying just taxes the energy that could be easier transferred to getting things in line.  Besides, in the greater scope of the universe our earthly travails fade to the trivial level, not that much really matters anyway.  Living as well as possible, loving, creating, learning.  These are the important things, and with them the rest will fall into place somehow.

On this particular trip I will start off landing again at Heathrow with a day of rest and some time alone with my sweetheart before boarding a train to germany via the channel tunnel.  I guess we shall bop around a bit in Germany, spending the holiday with her family, whom I will be meeting for the first time (**gasp!**).
From there it is back to the Big Black Smoke, and then off to a stone cottage on a hill in the Welsh countryside for the week of the New Year.  Champagne by the open fire.  Tre Romantique!

Another week in London and it is back on the plane going east, once again into the multiple arms of Mother India.  Got a tooth that needs fixing, you know.  I'm planning on taking a week's intensive Hindi class, working out in a New Delhi gym, and possibly getting ahold of a bike for a trip to Goa to meet my old friend James, who will be in Patnem for the month of February.  King's beer and palm trees by the Arabian Sea is just what the doctor ordered.
While in Delhi also, I plan on semi-retracing an old step to check out the "new" Bullet Wallas workshop, Balu having sold the business to someone else who is trying to work the bugs out of running a business in India--not an easy task for anyone.  Should be an interesting story there.
A rickshaw to the Krishna DX in Paharganj will start the show--what I can do or get done once again comes down to how the chips fall, and how much cash ends up in the kitty.
Wish me luck with the packing and tightening up of projects--I feel like I need it.
I'll try to keep it interesting at least, if not downright funny.

Josh, I thought you were never going back there after the last ordeal in Goa! Maybe just stay away from drunken idiots...

Awesome Josh!

Glad to hear you and your lady are still a pair!
Good luck with meeting the family - I'm sure you'll charm them.

And WOW! another trip to India!
I may never get there, but say hello anyway for us!

Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year too!

Don't get stuck in the Chunnel for 16 hours, either. Safe travels and a full gas tank wherever you roam.
