Where I stayed
We decide to retrace our steps and to have kebabs again for lunch so we can jog our memories on how delicious they are. A leisurely stroll around town and on the jetty before heading back to the pool to sit in the shade and take advantage of the wifi.
We move to the beachside restaurant for one last time then off to pay the bill..... we think the majority of the charges were from our cocktail marathon. 400euro for 3 days ain't bad. Big Mamma gives us a big farewell hug and a little present to take with us on our way
Leaving our hotel at Lakki village, our speedy driver decides to slow things down on the way to the port with all of us wondering if we will actually make the Flying Cat 4 ferry. Greek island time is great and relaxed, but it is stressful when you actually have to be somewhere on time. But to his credit, we do make it there with very little time to spare.
After an hour ferry ride we reach Naxos. The quad bike is there at the port waiting for us. This will be our transport for the next 3 days as Naxos is quite a large island. Coming to grips with the bike and the disorientating streets is an enjoyable challenge. We do eventually find our hotel, cruising the wrong way up a one way lane. We settle into our new hotel at Naxos Resort. By 8pm we slip down to the beach to make a choice from a string of beachfront cafes and enjoy some authentic pasta and pizza dishes. The sunset is beautiful and the beach cafes are quiet. As we leave at 10pm we notice the cafes starting to get more busy. Greek people really do embrace the night
