So I arrived earlier then usual to the sanctuary today, in fact it was still dark. The morpho butterfly I saw yesterday was still there and as soon as the sun came up it started flying around. They're so pretty! I was talking to Rolo about it and a bat literally hit me in the face again, seriously they are psychotic here.

I did some of the project this morning and then had baby time. Today I finally a. Had a baby and b. Had Linus aka the most adorable baby sloth ever. He, like my favourite Piphany has his mouth always open. They seriously need to put them together, they're both extremely placid and have the mouth thing. Plus it would be way too cute. Linus is an absolute dream to have for baby time. He never tries to bite you and basically spends most of his time wanting to be held. I don't think I've even seen a baby sloth so placid. We've decided he's half puppy and half human baby because he looks a bit like a happy puppy and is constantly falling asleep on me in positions that a baby would and not like a sloth at all. I'm totally going to have to steal him because he's actually the most adorable thing ever. Literally everyone is in love with him!

The amputee sloth that we have is still not any better and is still on the floor so I'm going to get Primo to look at her tomorrow. After our usual day I carried on with the project and after a while I noticed, Benji, acting really oddly. I thought he might be having a fit or something but when I went over I saw that his head was right in the corner of his enclosure, next to the head of Mocha, a female who was sleeping next door. I then realised that he wasn't having a fit but actually gyrating against his platform, looking at Mocha creepily, while getting jiggly with himself. He then stopped and passed out, then he started again and the ate and went to sleep. Typical male. It was half disturbing and half really funny.

So yesterday I mentioned that we were probably going to get eaten by mosquitoes. After work we discovered that we had been infested by ants. Actually I can't even call it an infestation it was more like an invasion because they were army ants. I don't think I've ever seen so many ants in my life. I can't even describe the amount. They were everywhere. On the path, going up the stairs, there was at least 300 in the kitchen. And those things bite. We were all wearing flip flops. I went into the kitchen to get some water and literally had to sit on the wet sink to get water. They got on my flip flop and I threw it off, Kali our boat man was in there laughing at me and had to keep rescuing my shoes. It was ridiculous. All of our dinner was in there too (luckily they only eat bugs) and it was so bad that we had to all get together and as a team had to go and get everything. So someone got plates, I got pans etc all while we were doing the 'ant dance' which was basically marching and stomping with our knees really high. We looked ridiculous.

We ended up eating upstairs, I immediately got stung by something and obviously screamed extremely loud. Then we got attacked by mosquitoes. As predicted. These weren't your usual mosquitoes though, it actually hurt when they bit you and there were hundreds. In the end we all basically gave in and went home at a very early 7:30pm! Death by bugs!!!
