Where I stayed
After breakfast I began my MAMMOTH mssion to try and get my camera fixed. No where seemed to do it, I was suggested some places but they basically told me I had to get it done in the capital, Managua which I definitely do not have time for. I eventually gave up for a bit and did another mammoth task - editing and uploading all of my photos. Another thing I really want to do here is go and see lava in a volcano. I wanted to do it in Costa Rica, but apparently you can't see it there anymore. However no one seemed to be running the trip for tomorrow night and the next one isn't until Saturday, when I'll be in San Juan. They also need four people to do it and I currently have one, me. Going to see if I can persuade the boys to come with me so I can actually go!
So, my productive day has been extremeley un-productive so far. The boys got back and I was then annoyed that I didn't go volcano boarding as it looked awesome and they said it actually wasn't that bad. Damn. It also looked really pretty so I could have at least gone and seen the volcano. Decided to try and find one last place to get my camera fixed/book the tour as some of the guys said that they might come with me. Ady came witrh me but we couldn't find the camera place anywhere. We eventually stopped off at a camera shop and tried to ask if they knew of anywhere. However the problem was that we speak barely any Spanish and they spoke absolutely no English. The woman found somewhere that did it but was unable to describe to us where it was, she therefore whipped out google translate on the computer to tell us and so we could ask questions! What a legend!
After we'd worked out where we had to go we got in a taxi and headed to the San Juan church. Unfortunately there were about 6 camera shops around the church so we had to go into every one to try and find the guy we were looking for. We eventually found him and thank god he spoke some English because I honestly didn't think I'd be able to describe what was wrong with my camera in Spanish. He said that he would probably need 2 days, which I did not have left in Leon. I offered him more money to fix it quicker but he said no, so I instead went for begging that if he could try and fix it by the day I left I would love him forever! On the way back I went into Tierra Tours to ask about the volcano trek and found out I could go tomorrow and I only needed two people. It wasn't staying overnight like I wanted but seemed pretty good anyway.
Ady and I went back to the hostel, after a quick detour to check out Leon's cathedral, and I managed to get James involved and then Carlo too. Ben and Jack decided not to go as they were going to go to Granada tomorrow instead, boring! So I booked 3 of us on for tomorrow night, yay lava!!!
Despite the fact I wasn't going to drink tonight I managed to get dragged into a game of flip cup (your in teams and have to race each other by downing beer and then flipping your cup over). My team won three times out of the 4 games I played. It was actually my fault I lost the one game but after that I was pretty good! Had to give up after a while though as the beer made me super bloated.
Eventually we all went out for dinner, I was starving as I'd had no lunch. We found a pizza place and I shared with Jack and Ben and as I was obviously the most hungry it took forever and when the food finally came out they told me that ours was going to be another 5 minutes, arg! Went back to the hostel after, Carlo and James wanted to go out but Jack, Ben and I couldn't be bothered. It turned out James wasn't going to go out as he hopped in the pool and 5 minutes later was joined by a girl from Holland (none of us can remember her name! Ana?) who he'd hardly spoken to at dinner but he basically managed to get her into bed in half an hour and even spent $18 on a private room to seal the deal. Ben and Jack were in a state of disbelief as he told us what was going on while we played card games and played with kittens! So rock and roll!
