Went off on a river cruise today as I wanted to see more of the Rio Dulce and see the 'nicest beach' in Livingston - Playa Blanca. We started at the Seven Altars pools, which were pretty nice and I liked the little hike over jingle, waterfall and rocks to get to the top. You can walk here from Livingston though. We went to Playa Blanca next which was just an average beach, there was nothing special abou it. The river part was also average as the journey to Livingston from my awesome hotel, Finca Tatin was actually way better. Therefore it wa ok but I wish if actually stayed back at Finca and gone kayaking etc. The people selling food on the beach tried to rip me off a well, charging me 50 instead of 40 Quetzals, saying they had no change and when I gave them another 10, as they had 20, they pretended not to understand despite the fact the Irish girl i'd met was explaining it in Spanish. We persisted though and funnily enough the woman did actually I've the right change! Cheeky sods.

Headed back to the Finca and spent the evening listening to the awesome thunder storm that lasted for about 4 hours and playing shit head. I swear that game is universal! Everyday for the last two days I've had an certain animal day, in Flores it was the day of frogs as they kept jumping in bed, out of the toilet and yesterday was the day of spiders a I kept finding them everywhere and I found Mildred the tarantula :) Today was definitely the day of crabs (less exciting) so I'm hoping for something cool tomorrow!

Trying to decide whether to stay tomorrow or in Livingston as I haven't really seen it at all yet! I need to go to Honduras on saturday and at the moment it's looking like I'm going to have to do it on my own which will involve me taking 2 buses, 2 boats and one taxi-JOY! On an upside it is cheaper than the tourist shuttles.

The Finca has two rotweiller style dogs, really friendly but they smell quite a bit. I kept going up the extremley narrow stairs to the dorm, seriously I struggle. I kept smelling this really bad smell but thought maybe it was from the rain. I went up at least three times before I noticed that the older dog was under one of the dorm beds opposite the stairs with only his muzzle poking out!! Seriously how did he get up there! Bless him. I told one of the staff-who I'd mentioned the smell too and they shooed him downstairs (even though I said he could stay there). Was seriously nervous watching him go down but he manage it, silly pup.

Going into Livingston tomorrow to check out the rasta vibe and see what it's like!
