As we were trying to get to sleep tonight the guy in our room started snoring. It was pretty loud. He was Asian and I had no idea if he spoke English so I decided to try and make a loud enough noise so he would wake up and probably roll over.

I attempted with a bottle of conditioner, it definitely wasn't loud enough. So I tried with a metal can of mosquito repellant. Definitely loud enough but he was quite far from us so it didn't work. I decided to abandon the attempt but he got louder. I went into his part of the room and dropped it from really high, it was super loud! Georgia and I were wetting ourselves and it apparently worked as he stopped snoring although I noted to Georgia that he was still on his back and it would therefore start again...sure enough.

I then decided it was time to stop mucking around and took with Georgia with me to wake him up-I thought it might seem a bit odd if it was just me. I shook him, and again. We said hello? And then louder. Finally after the combined efforts of rigorous shaking and us basically shouting he woke up. Victory!

The plan was to do some shopping today but I could not for the life of me find the cool coffee bag I wanted yesterday :( posted aimee's tequila back as well before I met up with a guy who I like to call 'crazy joe'. He was telling me about his awesome campsite and how he had "the best weed". He also, after practicing chiropractic treatment on me in the middle of the street, went on to tell me that his radio station had been taken down for anti-semtic remarks, that he knew what Israel were up to and that they had caused the fukushima meltdown/tsunami by the Rothschild family (who apparently own all things nuclear) set off nuclear devices off the coast. Oh and his wife sometime gets possessed.

After this enlightening conversation I went to the 'beach' (grass) to meet georgia for a bit where a man kept going "oh wow" at us-really? There were some cool, super friendly stray dogs there though and I swam in the lake to a gorgeous view of two volcanoes in front of me, pretty cool.

Went back to this deli that does epic sandwiches before heading back to pack. I'd tried to reserve a hostel in Flores but they hadn't got back to me, i'd been trying to ring all day and finally got through to be told they don't do reservations. Well why have a reservation page on your website then? I frantically tried to find somewhere under $12 and thankfully found a little gem just off Flores ten minutes before I left!

I was meant to be getting a bus straight to Guatemala City but apparently it was two buses-1 to Antigua and then to GC. Which I hadn't been told! Guatemala city looks huge! It's probably the first proper city I've seen out here. We get to GC and wait for the bus, my Spanish is definitely getting better and I swear when he told me 16 quetzals he was actually speaking another language. I then managed to spill my ramen noodle dinner over my hand and have cleverly burnt myself. There was an English couple on the trip and I was saying how I hoped I wouldn't be next to some weirdo who would touch me in my sleep and then I found my seat...

Join me next time for my 9 hour night bus journey with a morbidly obese man? Woman?
