Han and I went on an elephant trek today which was pretty awesome. We had a really lovely guide who used to be a monk but he was also part of the Hmong people (a tribe in Laos) so was teaching us all about the Buddhist/Hmong religion, was really interesting.

Hannah and I shared an elephant, I couldn't remember the name so I named him Bill, only to later discover it was a girl..ooops (so I renamed her Belle).

We both got to sit on the neck of the elephant, which I wouldn't recommend wearing shorts for ever as elephants are kind of bristley and it wasn't exactly comfortable! We also went in the water with them where she spent the entire time dunking her head in to try and throw us off, (For fun not because she hated us). This was actually rather tiring as you then had to try and clamber back on as gracefully as possible without my bikini top coming off.

We then went to the smaller waterfalls, which weren't that great as they were dryer than usual but you could tell they would be really pretty in the rainy season.

In the evening we went to a bar called Utopia, right on the river. It's packed with tourists but really nice. Then as it was our last night we decided to go bowling as it is oddly the only place open past 12 in Luang Prabang. Was actually kinda fun, everyone (minus myself) got rather drunk, I don't think they're going to be to happy when we leave on our minivan for Vang Vieng tomorrow!
