Things that make you go "hmmm" in Hamburg:
- Everyone here stares at me

. It's kinda funny. But what is funny is I just keep wondering what's so weird about me that they have to go to great lengths to look at me. I mean if you see someone really different, don't ya just sneak some peeks? But noooooo these folks just stare. But it's not like a "wow you are such a side show" type of stare. It's more like a ... "hmmm look at her. She's different." kind of staring. But it's just interesting to me cause I can't escape it. Even if I walk by the same person more than once they still stare at me each time.Later in the evening we went to the Reeperbhan which is the red light district. It's very interesting. It's just like many streets of sex clubs, sex shops, dance clubs, and pretty much all kinds of shops and entertainment places with the emphasis on sex shops/clubs. There is something there for everyone. :)
More things that make you go "hmmm" in Hamburg:
1. There seems to be a clone-a-prostitute ring operating in the area. - You have two kinds of prostitutes, dark hair and blonde. All the chicks in each category look exactly the same.

. There seems to be a hooker dress code here. - All prostitutes at the Reeperbhan were pretty much dressed exactly alike. It was pretty much those blue jeans with the faded white patches in the front on the thighs, some kind of thick jacket (because everyone was in full winter gear today (except I was in a t-shirt because it wasn't cold at all to me), and their choice of hoe heels. 3. Now the prostitutes on the real hoe stroll (in an industrial area in the city) had on another hoe uniform that consisted of a white top, white boots, white or black bottoms if they choose to wear any and these shiny, nude colored, tights that you see dance teams, dance school students wear. We decided they were for safety and warmth. The car head lights make them shine, keeping you from hitting them and they are thick to shield from the cold. :)
Prostitution is completely legal in Hamburg which is pretty cool, so these ladies can be out there without the added worry of getting busted.
Back to the Reeperbhan. There is an interesting place there with women on display in windows for ones choosing, (I suppose similar to those in Amsterdam). You have to get through the prostitute wall and go through the plaza to get to it (the prostitute wall being a long row of prostitutes who actually seem to be guarding the area instead of working it)

. Then there is a sea of them in the plaza. But once you get past them, you can go to this "women on display" area which is also heavily guarded by the clone prostitutes and behind a wall. You just walk behind the wall and you are in another world. I found it to be quite classy actually. It was very clean, the mood lighting was wonderful, and everyone walking through was behaving respectfully. It was quite interesting. When the people shopping wanted a woman, they go to her window and she opens it and talks to them. :) So that was pretty much our day. Tomorrow, we go get some Marzipan in Lubeck and go to a petting zoo. :)
