We spent 3 days in Arizona. I was supposed to attend 2 conferences and he was going to join me. It was supposed to be a week long trip but a snowstorm ruined our travel plans so we had to cut our trip short. The original plan was to fly into Tuscon, spend time at the Saguaro National Park, then go to Phoenix and visit the Petrified Forest, the Painted Desert, the Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon.
Instead, we had to cancel our Tuscon trip and rearrange our plans at the last minute. We flew into Phoenix, then drove up to Flagstaff the next day through Sedona. We spent the night in Flagstaff and drove up to the Grand Canyon the next morning which was definitely worth all the frustrations we had to go through to rearrange our plans. Words cannot do it justice, it should really be on everyone's must travel list.
Phoenix - Hyatt Regency - I was only there for 1 night for the conference so I didn't get much of a chance to explore but the location seemed pretty central. They don't have their own parking garage, you have to park at the public garage next doors.
Holiday Inn Express - They're undergoing renovations at the moment but we stayed in one of their newly renovated rooms which was nice. There aren't any restaurants nearby that I could see, except a Waffle House. The breakfast was diasspointing.
Flagstaff - Residence Inn - Clean, basic studios. The mini-studios are layed out over several 2-story buildings, with each one having a separate entrance from the street. It's located about 10mins from downtown Flagstaff. If you go to Flagstaff, you MUST have dinner at San Flippe's in downtown, the food was delicious!!
