notes:
took van from lijiang. went with 2 dutch guys, 2 isreali girls, and 1 spaniard. Great time hiking with all of them. 3 days in the hike two nights. sky ladder down to the bottom. refused to pay the guys on the ladder. went all the way to the river. spaniard helped with spanish. was very free with his standing near the edge. singing havagaveeda on the trail. stayed in awesome hostel not finished last day with amazing view of the gorge. girls were a little slower on the trail - spaniard assumed to wait. girls were military service grads - standard for all isreal. gorge was ridiculous (4000 ft drop). first night tried to see stars amazing! pictures did not work out- even though we tried really hard. last day we split up and tried to walk down a new trail. afriad we would not make it around the loop in time for the bus we had to backtrack all the way back to the hostel. we were going to another gorge? girls did not make it tot he bus in time. we were worried especially since spaniard paid for their seat. dutch guy ditched em. they made it just in time. they paid 20 rmb to climb down tot he trail.
