Our five weeks in Iran were so fantastic yet challenging that we require a Top Ten just for this special country.

Top Ten in no particular order:

1. Bazar e Bozorg in Esfahan- Return to the scene of a final year architecture crime
2. Kharanaq- Quaint little village outside of Yazd. Pomegranates, mud homes and rooftop camping, what more do you need?
3. Takht e Jamshid (Persepolis)- Unbelievable 5th century capital complex of the Persians with breathtaking friezes and scultpure.
4. Nights cruising around Shiraz and its gardens with Roxana and her cousins
5. Imam (Shah) + Jameh Mosques, Esfahan
6. A night sleeping under the stars next to the Zorastrian Towers of Silence, Yazd
7. Mehbod Pigeon House, Ice House and Caravanserai, Yazd
8. Homecooked Persian food especially fesunjun and khorme sabzi
9. Persian carpets, drinking tea surrounded by them and then buying the ones we love
10. Mahan Princeīs Palace Garden- An experience shared with Reza, our wonderful host in Kerman.

Honourable Mentions:
