Sost is a dusty border town of North Pakistan. It's a border post but we are still 3 hours from the border.

To get to Sost we past the KKH's most desolate mountain scapes; perfect cones of scree, over 500m at the base, fell down to the grey Hunza river; only a few scrappy shrubs here and there before a constricted green plot of potato's and wheat welcomed us to the next village which became now fewer in regularity and smaller in size the longer we drove.

Tomorrow we head for the Khunjerab pass. We are slightly conflicted to be leaving as we have enjoyed Pakistan and would love to stay longer but find Sost an uncomfortable place to dwell on such on an idea. So, bring on China!
