A must see in Chandigarh is the exrtaordinary Nek Chand Garden- An extensive landscape built out of recycled material by one man in the wee hours of the night over several decades.

It is an exceptionally pleasurable experience- With water courses, dwarvish arches, plate and ablution mosaics, numerous sculptures and of course: happy Indian punters.

Christina and I where also treated to a private audience with Mr Chand in his office, shared a hot cuppa and where thrilled with the willingness to share his numerous mementos - a photo with Indira Gandhi ("A great woman") was my favourite.
